New update is version 501 as opposed to 500...let the speculation begin.

Well I just got the Mega Pack in the mail today and my 370 will not update :c I emailed the usa@neogeox and eagerly await a response. Since I use composite out I really had my fingers crossed for a 500a Mega Pack. Damn.
Anybody here get a 500a replacement mailed out to them in a reasonable amount of time? And how long did it take Tommo to respond to your email? I am itching to get this update!
Damn you for making me wait Tommo. I sass you! And shame you with my shame-shame finger gestures!

I'm quite surprised how many people are still having issues with the Mega Pack. I thought Tommo would've sorted that out by now. Anyway, I have v500 which is just fine for me since I use HDMI. Updated my NGX with one of the Classics Volumes.

Took about 2 weeks total I think to get my replacement mega pack. Including all the emails and sending back my original mega pack.

Ugh...2 weeks :c Still waiting for a reply to my initial email. Two days and not even a "We received your email and will contact you shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience." I tip my hat to you Tommo. I am having nostalgic flashbacks of being an impatient child kicking and screaming because I don't have what I want.

I tip my hat to you Tommo. I am having nostalgic flashbacks of being an impatient child kicking and screaming because I don't have what I want. It's probably because they're busy with all the other people who are having issues with their Mega Packs. I hope that if they do release another update, it won't have the same issues. Anyway, I hope you hear from Tommo soon. I'd be annoyed and impatient too if I were you.

Hey neogenesis I've ordered mine and specified a v500a just incase some dozy bastard gives me a v500 you reckon its good enough for hdmi without worrying about sending it back? as although they have offered a free upgrade to all customers and non customers if v500 is the version they have I'm just interested to see if you have had any problems. Or spoken to anyone that has v500a and said it's improved hdmi even further? Thanks dude.

I believe v500a improves the AV output and HDMI is improved the same way it is with v500. If you just use HDMI like myself, v500 will be just fine for you. It definitely improves HDMI from the original firmware.

Hi folks,
I have version 500a firmware. I was using an old CRT TV, which was great.
I have just got a new 24 inch small LED 1080 and for me HDMI is a no go, just looks a bit rough round the edges, however using composite out on the new TV is fantastic looks a whole lot better.
It feels solid now.

I've got mine running on a small LCD TV through HDMI.i do find when using composite the black/grey balance seems out and I'm struggling to adjust it (shows dark boxes around text on options, difficulty select ect) think its just the TVs fault to be honest.
