Only 18 days away...can't wait to find out what was done. Hopefully much better tv output, region/violence level select, and mvs/aes mode select or at least infinite credit option.

The option to credit feed would be nice for some games. But honestly, you know what I'd prefer? Memory card emulation/support. With that, there's both no need for infinite credits (you can just reload where you left off/got game over'd) and you can save your game and pick it up another time, which totally changes how approachable some games are! Like Art of Fighting 2. Playing it on my AES was... infuriatingly impossible. 4 credits? No. Just...No. Then I got a memory card, and suddenly it doesn't bother me at all! I can just keep plugging away till my patience runs out, save and come back to it another time. Same playing it on my NGCD where the credits are infinite. Play, yell, swear, save, swear vengeance, play something else.
There are a lot games I actually really like being limited to 4 credits. Any KoF game, I'd way rather have the limit than just feed till I win. Since those games aren't AoF hard, and actually have a really sweet spot for standard difficulty (which is fully adjustable) it just forces me to better myself!
I'm definitely hoping for better output. The HDMI was kinda disappointing! Composite hooked up to a CRT TV is actually pretty damn good, though. Always room for improvement!

Those arcade games were also designed in a different way than console home games: to encourage quarter drainage!
I just recently played through Final Fight on my Playstation 2. That thing cost me about $5 to finish if we're talking .50 cent continues!!

I always found it kinda odd that the AES being the exact same hardware never had a credit option from the get go, If i had bought one back in the day knowing how tough some of these games are i would of been pissed off, If its the arcade at home then i always thought it should of at least been an option as i hope you guys get the option with this update

It was a way to artificially lengthen the game. Make em BRUTALLY hard, and then limit the continues. This way, it's going to 1)Be WAY more satisfying when you finally do beat it, and 2)Take you longer than 30 min or so to beat on the first run out. Which I think was kinda crucial to make happen, especially given how much the carts cost at the time of release! If I dropped 200$ on a game, and beat it within an hour of owning it, I'd feel a touch ripped off, arcade perfect or not.

It's more of a design philosophy; making it a REAL arcade experience!
...right down to the fact that you are out $100 at the end of it! ;-)

Trust me man, Neo geo games are much harder generally than any other arcade games ever developed, I have a home arcade and i have an MVS cabinet, You set it on easy and give yourself four credits there probably isnt one game your gonna beat they are super tough, Even given all the credits you want there still arent many you will get through

I find it depends on the game. For example, I usually don't have a problem going through any KoF game with the 4 credit limit on my carts, unless a Boss decides to be a TREMENDOUS jerk, the two biggest offenders being Rugal and Goenitz. Fatal Fury games, too. FF 1 gives me problems at Tung Fu Rue and of course, Geese. Not too hard otherwise. Same holds true for FF 2, and Special. Billy Kane is a big sticking point in FF Real Bout, but otherwise, still perfectly do-able in 4 credits. Art of Fighting games though... yeah, more than 4 credits required. AoF 2 especially. To this day I still haven't beaten AoF 2, Geese is just a nightmare.

Has there been any other details about the firmware update or rocket cable?

Has there been any other details about the firmware update or rocket cable? For sure we are getting unlimited continues, turbo mode, better tv aspect ratio compatability, improved sound output. . .We had better be getting vastly improved tv output as well!

Ability to save has been confirmed! I don't think they can do anything about the sd card hack as the ninja masters card and all future games likely wouldn't work if they changed something.

I doubt that will be the case, given that the credit feed button for MVS mode is actually 'Select' on the AES on the controller, and that button has use in ALL of their legit games, in most cases being 'pause'. They'll just have to re-assign it to R2/L2 or something to that effect! If you're playing in the Dock, there's no way you'll notice a difference because an update shouldn't make a controller less functional! I would hope, anyway.

I'll take a credit feed option/ memory card save feature. Fixing the screen tearing should be fixed as well. It doesn't bother me too much, since I don't really notice it when I'm getting into the game. Still it needs to be addressed. Any other features they throw in with the firmware update will just be a bonus for me. Actually, the best feature they could add is ..... NO MORE DELAYS!!!

How to update your firmware video from Tommo, but still they don't show us what's changed. Not a good sign if you ask me..
