I've been pondering about getting either a Neo Geo Pocket Color or a Gameboy Advance SP. Right now, I'm somewhat leaning towards the NGPC since its games seem to be easier to collect. I do have some concerns about its screen not being backlit. As for the GBA SP, I like the brighter screen and rechargeable battery. What do you guys think?

I never had a ngpc, but I used to collect japanese gba games and hardware (all gone now tho) I'd recommend the brighter screen gba sp model number ags-101 which had the best screen, quite hard to find though, micros are a lot of fun, but this guy re manufacturers the best gba's you can get rosecoloredgaming.wordpress.com the mark one gba with new LCD screens and custom cases, easily the most comfortable of all the gba's to play. Also if you plan to collect for the gba there are a lot of fake carts out there so watch out for those, there are guides online which will help to spot the fakes, if you just want to play the games, grab a flash cart and enjoy, for me it's the ultimate Nintendo handheld.

I didn't know the GBA has a flash cart. That really peaks my interest. Hopefully it won't be too hard to find if ever I do decide on getting a GBA.

The correct answer is both! I have 3 NGPCs and 7 GBA (3 are SPs). You need both. Trust me.

I'd sure want both, but I'm just getting one for now. hehe. If the NGPC had a backlit screen, I think I'd go for it without much hesitation. I'm still unsure.

I really like beat 'em ups, so I'll probably be getting "Final Fight One" and "Double Dragon" if I decide to get a GBA. Are there any other notable beat 'em ups on the GBA that you guys would recommend?

Thanks. I didn't know River City Ransom was on GBA. Interesting. I didn't know there was an Astro Boy game either. I actually used to watch the Astro Boy cartoon when I was a kid. hehe.

RCR is good on the GBA. Honestly, at that price, get that NGPC. Already modded, you're golden! And the games on NGPC are fantastic. Not that I don't love the GBA, I do, quite dearly. But that's a -really- good price.

Still unsure. I saw a new GBA SP AGS-101 model that's less than $100. Are there any good fighting games for the GBA other than Super Street Fighter?

Thanks. I looked them up. They look good. SNK vs. Capcom makes me want a NGPC though. I wish they made one for the GBA as well.
