I was thinking of maybe getting a Retro Duo (or a Retron2) some time. For those who don't know, it's an unofficial console released a few years ago that plays both NES and SNES games. Does anyone here have experience with it? Is it any good? What are the good and/or bad things about it?

The Retron 5 is quite interesting, though I just want a console for NES/SNES. The other stuff the Retron5 has don't really interest me much. I've only recently heard of the Retron2. Seems like it came after the Retron3. That's a bit odd. haha.

I was looking up the other Retron systems. I have to say that they are some of the ugliest consoles ever. The Retron 2 in particular looks like an even uglier SNES. haha. I do like that these systems let you play different games though. Anyway, here's a picture of the Retron 2:

I'd still wait for the 5, you get the functionality you wanted, plus the compatibility with the other systems you may not want now but it's nice to have the option, the 5 has wireless controllers or the the option to use original controllers for each system, plus it improves picture quality, outputs via HDMI and has options for scanlines, all for around $80usd.

It does sound nice, though I'm not too excited about wireless controllers. I've used the wireless controllers that came with the Atgames Sega Genesis but you have to be in direct line of sight from the console for them to work properly. It's good these systems let you use regular controllers. I guess we'll see what the Reron 5 ones will be like.

Since we're talking about the Retron 5, I thought I'd post a picture of it here too: Personally, I think it's trying to do too much. We'll see how it does once it's out though. Those controllers seem weird for a retro system. Looks like it has a stick instead of a d-pad.

Lollerz! Seriously though I am definitely getting one of these bad boys! Be awesome to play the classics with my children without digging all my old systems out (up to 90 systems now and 1390 games ).

I'm surprised they didn't put Atari stuff in it too. hehe. Do any of you guys have the Retron 3 or anything similar? That one looks a bit weird too. haha.

So, I was looking up more of these retro consoles and I learned that Retro-Bit (makers of the Retro Duo) is releasing a new console called the "Super Retro Trio", probably around the same time the Retron 5 will be out. It will play NES, SNES, and Genesis games, plus GBA games with an adapter. I like how all the controller ports are in front of the console. Here's a picture:
