Just to bump this thread back up from the dead, I have pre-ordered my Retron 5, and I have to say, I'm well excited! I've picked up a few old carts off feebay to get started with - Mario World Snes, and Strider and Magical Flying Turbo Hat Adventure for Jap Megadrive. I seriously can't wait to try this thing out. Also, the latest pics of what I think is the final product... www.gadgetreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/68-181-037-02.jpgPersonally, I really like how it looks

That's cool. I think the controller's a bit weird. It would've made more sense to use a normal d-pad. Oh well, at least you can still use the original ones. I guess you're stuck with those controllers for the gameboy stuff though.

I don't think the Game Boy or Game Boy Advance had separate controllers. I wonder if you'll be able to use a NES or SNES pad for the GB games. I think that would make some sense. Or maybe you can connect the handheld itself to the console? It does seem weird how the SNES game fits in backwards. haha.

No no. What I mean is you'll be able to control the GB games with your other controllers.

Ah, that's good. Let us know how the Retron 5 is once you get the chance to try it.

So, I was looking up more of these retro consoles and I learned that Retro-Bit (makers of the Retro Duo) is releasing a new console called the "Super Retro Trio", probably around the same time the Retron 5 will be out. It will play NES, SNES, and Genesis games, plus GBA games with an adapter. I like how all the controller ports are in front of the console. Here's a picture: Yes to my knowledge they play everything, As that is the point of the console, All regions all everything Any idea if this plays PAL and NTSC games like the retron 5?

Yeah - there's a switch on the front to choose which you want. I think this was covered earlier in the thread

It was supposed to come out before the end of the year, but I heard it has been moved to 2014.

I hope it's being pushed back for a redesigned shell. Less is more... let's not make it look like some kind of action figure spaceship.

It was pushed back due to defective cart connectors. They didn't have enough time to make new ones for a 2013 launch. Nothing is expected to change from the design.

I still find it hard to believe the cart connector story. Why would you crack open boxed consoles to find this out? Seems a little odd to me. Anyhow, at least they aren't willing to ship faulty stuff to their customers, unlike some of the bigger boys I could mention *cough Microsoft*
