I still find it hard to believe the cart connector story. Why would you crack open boxed consoles to find this out? Seems a little odd to me. Anyhow, at least they aren't willing to ship faulty stuff to their customers, unlike some of the bigger boys I could mention *cough Microsoft* Maybe they're going to add more stuff to it and rename to it to Retron7. haha.

I won't buy an Xbox One because of this.

Does anyone around here have a Retro Duo Portable (RDP)? I've heard good things about it and may ponder on getting one some time. Is it any different from the console version performance-wise?

I finally got a Retro Duo (console). I have to say that it's actually pretty good, at least for the games I've tried so far. I just have NBA Live 96 and Street Fighter II Turbo for SNES at the moment, but they looked, sounded, and played just as I remembered them. It's also smaller than I thought. I'm quite happy with it.

I am not sure if the R5 will play those Multicarts. I think the Trio will. The Retron 5 will allow you to use any controller on any system, that is a great feature. Im not sure if the trio does or not. HDMI doesn't really make these games look better than just a nice tube tv. Lots of times the blacks are not good, and the games aren't as vibrant, and kinda washed out. The trio only has up to s-video, which should be fine. Either console should be a nice purchase though.

The Trio has ports for the official controllers as well if you look at the pictures of it posted earlier in this thread.

Not sure if anyone has seen the Retron5 official site yet - here it is: retron5.com/They also released photos of the box this week, looking pretty damn tidy. Still don't know whether to opt for grey or black.

It's looking good. I like that it has a user interface. That's pretty neat. Does it have a release date yet?
