Nice one andy,
the game gadget custom firmware 0.95 sandbox works with mame roms which is a bit slow on some games, i could not get neogeo games to work, but CPS 1, 2 roms work, just copy zip files in to the neogeo folder and yes arcade perfect.
any questions fire away.

What sites do you use for your roms (PM me if necessary) also once I download the firmware into a SD card will the game gadget automatically update and show the new emulators under retro in the normal front end or will these only show up in sandbox mode?

Blaze makes them,
Andy,
please can you tell me how golden axe or any mame roms run okay on your gamegadget.
For me they are slow and distorted on sound etc, but you have the new updated model. Which i hear fixes this.
Also does TV out work on your model, not working for me.
On my model i had to download sandbox to get it working, so i could not just switch it on out of the box.
If you can confirm the above for me, im going order the new 2.0 version, which you have.
regards

I'm having some issues when downloading the OS firmware for the GG.when I go to download it windows asks if I want to save or run the download, which is right?i chose run and it seemed to download ok and I was then presented with a load of files entitled things like media, roms ect as well as other bits too so I copied everything to an SD card, put it into my GG,held A and now it just freezes on the red start screen.i have checked the card and everything is in one folder, should I have copied everything seperately?please help guys.

Yet another problem,I've downloaded some .zip files and moved them into the relevant folders but now when I try and activate the rom nothing happens.am I suppose to unzip the files and move each bit into the folder?

Are these game rom zip files? What kind in particular (Genesis, SNES, Neo Geo)? I don't know much about the Game Gadget but when I use emulators, I always unzip the rom files. Some zip files with game roms have multiple files in them, and you're able to use just one file if you choose to. I usually just use the US version ones- with the (U) symbol.

Yeah neo there game roms, some cps1 some snes and some megadrive ones.when I download (using windows7) I either open or save.then I'm presented with aload of different files ect.so rather than copy every file and other bits i copy the rom zip file to the specific folder.am I going about this the wrong way?as you can tell I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff.

You don't need to unzip the Neo Geo or any arcade roms from what I've experienced with MAME. For Neo Geo games, you'll need a BIOS file called "neogeo" that you put in the same folder the roms are in.
As for the game roms for consoles (SNES, Genesis, etc.), you'll need to unzip those. You'll just need a single file for each game. You just pick which version you want. Anyway, that's just what I do with emulators on my PC. Hopefully it's somewhat similar with the Game Gadget

No No no, Andy just format your sd card in fat 32 and extract the zip file to your SD card, as i said in previous posts, forget the cps 1 and 2 folders they are redundant, just copy all cps1, 2 zip file roms in to the neogeo folder to play them. All the roms in the neogeo folder are all CPS 1, 2 roms, no bios is needed, everything is on the sandbox mode.

Yes, also you have to hold A when you switch on the gadget and it will say sandbox.
