Just had a quick gander at the UK Facebook page and it says if you had problems with the 500 update to contact either Europe@neogeoX.com or USA@neogeox.com,so how do people like vampyremike who didn't have problems get the 500a update, seems a bit confusing.

Yeah, I am reading it only fixes some kind of composite issue and pal issue. So for now I'll stick with my 500 until a next big future update, if there is one =)

If there ever will be another update, hopefully they fix the screen tearing and the reversed audio (if that's true) when connected to a TV.

The tearing for me is minimal and doesn't hinder the gameplay much if at all, keep in mind I bought it used with the 500 firmware so it worked great out of the box for me =).
I've also been playing the handheld on lunch. And using this as a charger but have yet to test it a ton.

I tend to use the ticket cable as my docking station isn't set up all the time due to space issues but I do find the flashing light really off putting, particularly at night when trying to sleep.

You know honestly, I never even tried =) If I do I'll chime in.

Yes, you can. But for some odd reason I am only getting an 80% charge even when it says the charge is full ...will need to let it die fully first one day to test further.

Ah, that's interesting. By the way, does the handheld charge while you're playing with the docking station too?

wait, through a VCR? really? ? also - HI FROM A VERY LONG ABSENCE! Yes! And welcome back! Running the X through a vcr and out to tv greatly improves the composite out signal. VCRs act as a signal booster. I just realized my VCR is a SVCR meaning it has S-Video out! I am gonna hook it up that way and post some pics in next couple of days.
