Hello to everyone,
just bought a NeoGeo X Gold from a privat person. The unit should work probably, but does nothing after i received it. Seller plays dead so i'll try my luck here...
I can't get it to turn on. In the station or standalone, it does simply nothing, no charging icon or something. anybody has an idea ? Maybe it's bricken? If when can i fix this on my own? the usb port seems also "very loose" so maybe i'll try to solder it tight again. Is there somewhere a tutorial for opening up the system caefully?
Sorry for my english
thanks a lot

Maybe it just needs a good charge. There were a few times where I haven't used my NGX in a while and it's just been sitting in the dock. I try to turn it on, but nothing happens. I just let it charge for a while then eventually it turns on. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but it has happened to me more than once. Not sure if it's the same in your case, but I just thought I'd share.

Same thing happened to me once. Try letting charge for a day.

Mine seemed pretty dead for a while - got it working, played it a bit, then packed it away in a bag and didn't unpack it for a couple of weeks. When I did unpack it, the battery had expanded and I got it the hell out of the system. I've replaced the battery with one for a PS4 joypad and it now works perfectly, although it doesn't hold charge for very long unfortunately. Doesn't really affect me though as I almost always play it in the dock as a console.

I would strip it down and get it tested with a new battery. If that fails maybe a board fault.
Just cut your losses and sell as spares and repair. Just seen a similar one on ebay for £20 gbp spares and repair. Perfect for replacement screens, plastics etc.

How can i strip it down ? Any tips/videos/tutorials ?
Edit:
Ok, got it. Device is open, and now i know what the problem is... All 5 Pins of the micro USB port are floating... Tried to solder them, but my iron is quite too big. :/ Charges now, but i have to pull the plug a bit. When it's charged i'll check, if everything else is working.
