1st mistake: buying the neogeox amazon holiday bundle with mega pack vol1, not realizing it can't be played on firmware v337/v370, which i need to play sdcard roms --- HOWEVER...my ngx came from amazon pre-updated to v500a firmware, so even though i can't play sdcard roms (yet), at least i'm enjoying the mega pack.
2nd mistake: buying a modded ngx adapter, before realizing my amazon ngx would arrive with v500a firmware, on which a modded adapter would not work, right? --- HOWEVER...i'm confident that the adapter can still play a role in my ultimate goal, which is to get a small particular few games on an sdcard that works in the ngx. not 50 games, not a huge jailbreak of various systems' emulators...just a handful of top neogeo picks.
so...tell me if i understand this correctly.
i have:
> 3 microsdcards (512mb, 1gb, 4gb)
> 1 modded ngx adapter
> 1 regular sdcard adapter
> 1 rocket cable (came with mega pack)
QUESTION 1: all i need now is a special firmware (v345) to enable my sdcard, right? one to overwrite the restrictions of v500a.
QUESTION 2: do i need to purchase this firmware, or is it available online for download? (it probably doesn't work like that).
with what i already have, obviously i only want to buy what i need.
QUESTION 3: if i've followed the typical instructions on how to add roms to an sdcard, as if i had v337/v370 firmware...the only difference at the end for the special v345 firmware is to change the extension right?
change from .fba to either .mvs or .aes, correct?
