I just thought I'd share some pics of Neo.emu in the Nostalgia app for Ouya. I apologize if the pics aren't very clear. I just have an ancient camera (haha), and take the pics directly at the screen. You can add and edit your own descriptions for the games, and use your own icons as well. The wallpaper background can be changed too. I've done all that. I have 100 games running perfectly with scanlines and unibios, and all that good stuff. Anyway, I just wanted to share. Back to some Neo Geo goodness!

These look great mate! Can you upload some pictures of the games showing the scanlines in action?
Very envious!
I was recently on a business trip to Osaka, Japan and picked up a Neo Geo CD for £25! I got about 8 games with it (not included in the £25 price).
I was surprised, but I didn't find the load times too bad at all (but I only play one player). And the music sounds really fantastic.

Sure, I'll try to take some game pics. I'll try different percentages of scanlines since you can do that with Neo.emu. I normally just use 10% scanlines but there's higher percentages depending on what you prefer, with higher ones making scanlines more prominent/visible. Hopefully it'll show up properly in the pictures.
That's cool that you got a Neo Geo CD. Nothing like having the actual hardware. I guess those load times aren't really too different from PS1 and other disc based consoles, since those have a lot of load times too, but no one seems to complain as much.

These really take me back and look awesome. The scan lines definitely give the games a warmer feel if that makes any sense.
Re load times - I think the issue was jumping from an AES to CD, from no load times to load times. As you say, they are comparable to PS or sega saturn and for me definitely do not spoil the games. Having said that I almost always play 1 player so perhaps easier to stomach.
Thanks for loading up the pics, these really do look great!

You're welcome. It was fun taking those pictures and playing the games. I've never had an AES or NGCD. The only Neo Geo hardware I have is the NGPC. NGX is really more like emulation, so I guess that doesn't really count as actual Neo hardware.

I have a NGCD and NGX. In my mind the NGX sits within the NG family as it is an officially licensed SNK product ;-)

That's true, and it's still being sold despite that license termination bullshit from Playmore... I think Tommo did a pretty good job with the NGX. It's just too bad that they weren't given the chance to further improve it with more firmware updates and games.

The main gripe is the screen tearing which actually isn't too big a deal - I played for a couple of hours last night and I just stop noticing it after a while. I guess the frustration is that it is a firmware issue rather than anything with the hardware, and so could be fixed relatively easily.

Yep, your thoughts on the screen tearing are the same as mine. I was really looking forward to more firmware updates and Mega Packs. Oh well.

Even if a fresh lot of mega packs were released I'd still pick them up - the boxes just looked great and it would have been awesome to have several of them lined up on the bookshelf. The instruction manuals were also fantastic with the artwork and stickers. Really well thought out from Tommo and SNK.

Yep, they did a good job with the Mega Pack. It's actually the reason that made me finally decide to get a NGX. It's just too bad that we probably won't be seeing any more of those. Makes me think of things that could've been.
