Questions Re ProCard2/8GB MicroSD and UltraCard Firmware

Hey Everyone,

Brand new NGX owner, and recently found this site along with OMG-SNK's web store.  I understand the overall process but a couple things are confusing for this newb.  If anyone has any experience with OMG-SNKS's products, and can help clarify this for me, I'd be very grateful.  It seems like a pretty rad open and mutually helpful community.  I'm ready to pull the trigger but I don't want to order unnecessary items nor miss a vital component.

So, what is the difference between the ProCard2 w/8GB MicroSD card ($60) and the UltraCard Firmware Only ($75)? I know the UltraCard does not include the jailbreak but the Procard2 w/8GB Microcard does. According to a recent post by OMG-SNK on these boards, I believe he indicated that they BOTH have the full library of SNK and Capcom games correct?


I already have an official rocket cable.  So am I correct in concluding that I simply need the ProCard2 w/8GB MicroSD card and I'll have a jailbroken NGX that can play the included library of games on it??  

Please help clarify.

The ProCard2 is just a modified micro SD adapter that will allow you to both jailbreak and load games from a micro SD card. The UltraCard is a real gamecard (either a classics collection or megapack) which has been opened and had it's 2gb micro SD desoldered and an 8, 16 or 32gb micro SD soldered in it's place. The way I open and seal these up you would almost never know that they were tampered with.

So the UltraCard does the same thing as the ProCard2 only you don't need to mess with micro SD cards and it feels like an official gamecard because it technically IS an official gamecard... only upgraded with enough memory for the entire collection of games (like they SHOULD have released in the first place).

If you already have an official rocket cable, both the ProCard2 (with preflashed jailbreak) and UltraCard can be purchased separately to achieve the same effect for a little less money. When you receive it, I'm always available through email if you need any guidance through the jailbreaking process. I also have a tutorial on my site for anyone who wants to flash their own jailbreak card for use with any NGX modified micro SD adapter.
