But then again maybe not as this is just emulation rather than the actual original chips sets (which is what the consolized MVS is).
It would basically be a jailbreak NGX with cartridge slots. Quite cool.

Hmmm, that's true. Hopefully it'll happen some time.

I wish someone would just continue what Tommo did with the NGX and improve upon it. We need more Neo Geo emulation type systems.

Bought a Retron 5 and returned that piece of shit the very next day. These old games look like busted ass on a 55" hdtv. Playing game boy games on it gave me a migraine. Stay far far away from this junk and keep or buy the original hardware. YUCK!

I can understand why they keep going down the emulation route as it must keep costs well down.
What would be nice (but a dream) is if SNK were to re-release the NGCD but with more in built memory and a faster CD drive to eliminate load times. I think alot of gamers would be willing to pay GBP150 - GBP200 for such a system, particularly if it remained compatible with the original NGCD software (with perhaps SNK re-publishing some of the rarer/more popular titles).
Probably a pipe dream but such a system would be a beast.

The Ouya is probably a better option than a Retron 5. I have an Ouya and it's a pretty good machine for emulation.

I actually saw one the other day for sale in Game (second hand). It really is small isn't it? Looks VERY cool. Am thinking is it so small that the wife wouldn't notice it (that's a good thing lol).

Haha. Yeah, it's about the size of a Rubik's cube. There's not really a lot of great Ouya exclusives, but you'll probably be able to find a few gems here and there. I use mine mostly for emulation - NES, SNES, Genesis, Neo Geo, and MAME. The NGX acade stick works with it too.
