Hey look, a Retron 5 review. Looks interesting, though it seems to have a lot of compatibility and save issues. Check it out:

Usual internet nit picking aside it looks like a great system. I'll definatly pick one up at some point. Would be good to know if it runs the megadrive/snes sd carts.

It seems to be more of an emulation machine though, instead of a console-on-a-chip design. That somewhat surprises me since their previous machine (Retron 3) was more of a console. I guess we'll see if they fix some of the issues with new firmware updates.

Here's another review (Gamester81). He mentions around the end of the video that it didn't play any of his Flash carts.

Hopefully you'll get your Retron 5 soon. I'd like to hear some thoughts on it from someone here in the forum.

I like the fact that it can be updated but I personally feel that if it's emulation, why bother with carts?

Yeah, it's more of an emulation machine that requires the actual carts. It's somewhat weird, but still quite interesting. I just recently got an Ouya. It's a really good choice for emulation, which is my main use for it.

Maybe you should just get a Super Retro Trio instead.

It's good you finally got it. Next time they should add N64 compatibility. hehe. That's probably tough to do since I don't think there's any N64 clones around. That would be cool though.

It would have been awesome if it had a Neo Geo MVS slot eh? Missed opportunity.

Yeah, that would be really cool and also quite expensive, judging by how expensive consolized MVS systems are.
