Does anyone have a solution that has been tested for a 6 button stick to work on the neogeox? This could either be a standard third party 6 button aes joystick, or a usb joystick that will work. I have a 6 button joystick, but would rather not spend 80+ dollars picking up the converter if it doesnt work for the extra buttons. I basically want it so I can play snes, sega games properly.
is it possible a future update will allow ps3 usb joysticks to work?

The PS3 Neo-Geo style sticks (supposedly) work, but the extra buttons are placed funky...

Well, i ordered that converter ( 80 dollars!). Ill post the results when I get it.
Is there any chance of a firmware update to get ps3 usb controllers to work, or some other kind of usb device?

Hey, so I just want to confirm that the PS3 8 button Exar NeoGeo stick will work on the NeoGeo with all 8 buttons. Been searching the internet but it is still not clear to me that the extra buttons will work on the NeogeoX.
Thanks!

No one has actually confirmed 100% about the extra buttons working. We know that Tommo was using these exact joysticks during the NGX's development (there is a video online - I think Legacy has posted the link before). The belief is that Tommo just copied the PS3 (AES style) joystick design/circuit and left off the extra buttons - which would explain why the NGX joystick works for the PS3. This also looks like the specific reason why SNK issued the cease and desist against Tommo... the NGX's joystick was actually mentioned as the breach of copyright. I've been meaning to test the chip on the NGX joystick (by grounding the unused pins we might be able to access the extra buttons on the NGX joystick) I just don't have time right now.

Intersting. I assume then with the Capcom games that require six buttons we can use the L1, L2, R1, R2 buttons on the handheld NGX?

I ordered a PS3 8 button Exar NeoGeo stick from Japan on Ebay. It should arrive in about two to three weeks. I will let you all know if the extra buttons work or not.
Got my Ultracard+J and it works great! However, after Jailbreaking it and testing out some capcom games, I stuck in my existing MegaPack card because I have a saved game on there and I could not access my saved game. I was wondering if, since the game on my MegaPack was saved while my NGX was on the V500 firmware, that the new Jailbreak firmware cannot recognize it. Losing the saved game is not a big deal, just curious what happened.
