Over the weekend I found and purchased from Craigslist a NG MVS 1 Slot. I am pretty happy that I finally am able to have one! Always wanted an arcade machine. Needs a little cosmetic stuff done but overall it works. Now I just need to get games for it. Attachments:

Sweet. Looks like it's in super shape! I have lots of MVS stuff (4 slot boards, marquees etc), if your looking for anything (4 slot marquee & 4 slot board = instant 4 slot conversion) I love the version 1 big reds (they're more like a traditionally shaped arcade machine).

My florescent bulb won't turn on and I know it's not the bulb. Any thoughts? I also don't know what slot 1 mobo I have...I was interested in putting the unibios on it.

Most single slots (except for the newest ones that were sold separately from single slot cabs) have a BIOS socket, so upgrading to unibios is a breeze.

Nice... it's the very first version of the one slot boards (I'm repairing one of these right now, actually). That board has a socketed BIOS and is the ONLY single slot that supports the memory card board (I see that they're not hookup up though).

I don't have a memory card for it. I got a 161-1 multicart for it. Loads and plays. Sounds works. Display is a little dim and I think some of the button and controls need work.

I have a few questions for my cab..
1. Where can I acquire the headphone Jack so I can install headphones to the cab
2. My marquee light is dead and it's not the bulb...any suggestions on what I can do to it?
3. The screen is dim but playable...is there a way to put in a new screen? Either it be LCD or crt.
4. What type of joystick does this cab have? I am going to replace them since they have some nasty corrosion and sometimes don't respond.

What type of joystick does this cab have? I am going to replace them since they have some nasty corrosion and sometimes don't respond. 1. The original headphones jacks are located on the memory card board, however it is not hard to just wire up a custom connector and plug to connect to your 1-slot (there is a 3 pin connector on the board that plugged into the memory card board). 2. Replace the ballast/florescent fixture. 3. New RGB "arcade" monitors can be about $300, I would recommend just doing a rejuvenation, which would restore the monitor back to brand new condition (the equipment to do this yourself would be less than $300). 4. I would replace the joysticks (base or even just the micro switches) and keep/clean up/salvage the joystick shafts. The thing is that those steel shaft joysticks are the ORIGINAL factory sticks for those cabs and are actually really hard to come by (no one makes THOSE EXACT joysticks anymore). I would clean them up and keep them (and if you don't I'll trade you an MVS cart for 'em)!
