Whether you've experienced it on the NGX, or any other means of NeoGeo, what's the single, hardest game you've ever played, or own? For me, it's Art of Fighting 2. I've owned and played it for years, and to this day I have not managed to beat it. Geese Howard at the end is just a living nightmare. One time, devoting a whole month of daily sessions at him, I managed to get a single round in on him. He promptly demolished me before I could even touch him.

Why must we fight amongst each other, and further pollute the earth?

Agreed 100%, danthor! AOF2 is easily the hardest game I've ever played on the Neo. When I had my AES, I was able to make it to Mr.Big a few times, but I never beat him. The game as a whole is insane. Every fight was like a boss fight! I can only imagine how diabolically insane, Geese Howard is.

It's beyond my ability to describe. Only after experiencing firsthand, the ruthless ass-beating he hands out, can one really understand the horror that is Geese.

Are you kidding?!?!?! That is horrifying. I wonder if it'll be easier on the stick or pad.

I don't think either will be able to help you! Now I'm to the point of bring able to punch and kick his projectiles without fail, and he still beats me to a pulp every single time.

Just tried Magician Lord, its crazy. I like a challenge but that's just punishment. Such a shame because it has so much potential to be awesome, but due to the relentless carnage and design flaws its just insane. Half the time I get killed by something shooting little balls of death that's not even on the screen yet.
Makes me wanna play Super Castlevania 4 for some reason though.

Funny you should mention castlevania 4 as I'm currently bidding on a NTSC cartridge but it'll probably go for wacko money about (£25-£35).such a shame as I've never played it.gotta agree tho magician Lord is super solid.but I find with most of these games you just want to keep going back for more punishment, plus the save feature helps too.

Magician Lord is one of the few games on the NGX with unlimited continues. So it's possible to finish even if you die a hundred times. haha. I don't think anyone can finish that game with just one credit. Seems impossible.

Magician Lord is brutal initially. But if you can memorize the patterns of the enemies it becomes much easier. Awesome game either way.

I can get to stage 4 before I need to start continuing in Magician Lord. It's merciless. Also, it's worth mentioning the AES version actually plays a bit differently! At least my AES cartridge does. See on mine, I do get infinite continues, just like when I play on my NGX. But I get more total life, 6 bars, as opposed to 4. The drawback being that when you die, you don't just respawn where you died, there's checkpoints, and MAN are they brutal. Also, spend too long in a stage, and an enormous unkillable beast appears and destroys you.
Amazing game though. Great soundtrack, great challenge, one of my top games.
