I have a neo geo 337. can someone answer the following question about it.
1. if I want to run additional games on the neo geo x 337 do I just modify an sd card?
if the answer is yes what is the limit to the number of games on an sd card?
2. do I need to modify the firmware to add unibios 3.0?
3. what does the hacked firmware on here do?
4. can I pull my internal sd card out and replace it with a hacked sd card and swap back to original card?
5. what happens if you brick your neo geo x can u just replace the orginal card back and be good to go?
6.. is there anyway to get saved games on a 337? 7. cAn you save the image of a 337 and put it back on if you update or do you need a bootloader program to do that?

1) Yes. A modded SD card will work perfectly in both v370 and v337. In both cases, the maximum number of games that can be read on a single card is 50.
2) No. You can use Unibios on the games loaded via modded SD card without modding your firmware.
3) Hacked firmware allows a number of things, including, but not limited to; replacing preloaded games, adjusting resolution, colour, and output
4) I actually don't know if that's possible!
5) If you brick it, odds are pretty good it's bricked for good. A memeber here actually tried this recently, bricked his v337, and it never worked again. That said, it IS possible to recover the original firmware via bootloader and an image of the original settings, but I have yet to see firsthand an instance of that ever working right. Not reccomended unless you are a seriously experienced system modder.
6) At present, the only way to enable save games is the v500 and v500a firmware update, which at present blocks all mods.
7) See answer no. 5

If you manage to get the internal micro SD card out without destroying the unit, then you have a unit that will always be recoverable and can never be bricked (you can just put in a fresh 4GB card and reflash). Consequently you can browse the entire firmware (swapping whatever imgs roms or emu files) through a Linux PC. I call 337s DevUnits . However it would seem that there are not that many of these units left out there after Tommo confiscated 337s that would not take the 500 firmware upgrade. I think blocking ver 337 from updating was an intentional move by Tommo to get these compromised units out of circulation, otherwise we would have seen a jailbreak much sooner than now as it would have been super easy for me (or anyone else who has removed the internal 337 micro SD) to browse the new firmware and see what changes stopped the SD card hack. Turns out all Tommo did was change the extensions of the ROMS and make an exception for Ninja Masters... technically we should all be able to get the SD card hack to work with version 500/500a without any kind of jailbreak (for those who just want NEO-GEO on their NGX).
