I have just changed the Neo Geo X battery due to it being completely dead and not charging. I found a thread on the internet that points to being able to use a PS3 dual shock controller battery. I bought and fitted a PS3 battery and it worked fine but the battery life is now awful, lasts for about 10 minutes before dying from a full charge. The thread reckons that the PS3 battery should give 2-3 hours use. Can anybody confirm if this is true and whether they think that my PS3 battery might be faulty?
Does anybody know of another battery that may work?

Before I attempt to source another replacement battery could someone confirm if it is possible to use a PS3 dual shock controller battery and get descent power life out of it. Mine obviously works but with rubbish battery life (10 minutes) with a 5 minute battery charge time (flat to fully charged).

Is there a way to get the original batteries? I'm still getting 3 hours out of my original battery.

Yes still available. Couple of sellers on eBay, one from China and one in Australia. There is also a seller on Aliexpress. I wouldn't recommend using a PS3 dual shock battery though :-)

I have just replaced my battery again, hooray. Sourced a new official battery via eBay and fitted it last night. Very easy job to do and only took about 45 minutes. Now my Neo Geo X holds its charge and is returning about 3-4 hours play time :-). I don't recommend the PS3 dual shock battery way as documented on this site, your better off sourcing an official replacement.
