I have a Neo Geo CD and a Neo Geo X and I have some of the same games for both, but the balance and difficulty seems to be off on the X. I can easily play through some of the fighting games on the Neo CD, but when I play the same games on the X, the AI seems to just tear me to pieces and I can't even win a single round in some of the games. What is up with this?

Are you playing just the handheld or on the docking station with the controllers? Have you upgraded the firmware? The lag time on the controllers with the original firmware was horrible. That is all I can think of.

I have 2 MVS arcade systems, 2 AES cart systems, CDZ, CD, 2 NGX...I have played many of the same games, especially fighters, across all formats. I haven't noticed a change in difficulty at all (at same difficulty setting).

You are absolutely right. I cant speak for comparing neo geo x to AES, but the difficulty settings on neo geo x seem to make no difference. Beginner and expert both kick my ass just as bad. I can tell no difference...

Neo Geo games were designed to be fairly tough tough to eat your quarters.
