I just got my ngx fixed that i got from ebay and was wondering if i should jailbreak it with the current 337 firmware it has on it. Or update to 500 and jailbrake it?
Thanks

I think the jailbreak itself uses the v500 firmware, so you probably just need to do the jailbreak. I'm not exactly sure since I haven't used jailbreak myself, but that's just from what I know.

The jailbreak uses 500a firmware. I would defo jailbreak it. Your missing on loads by not jailbreaking or updating it. 337 and 370 firmware sucks really bad on screen output. I still cannot believe people are using this firmware missing out on a great experience and not really enjoying the X.
You can always roll back to megapack firmware update from the jailbreak.
Note: 500 firmware is broken in the UK/Europe on PAL / NTSC Composite out, screen out of alignment and fuzziness.
500a firmware fixed these issues and i can confirm the jailbreak used 500a firmware.
If they would have used 500 firmware, we would still have the screen chopped and fuzziness issues in UK, Europe.
