Three days ago I bought a ngx and mega pack 1 from amazon.com at first works ok,but i don‘t know when i turn on my neogex ,my device show a white blank, no image ,but have sound, then i thought it was because i didnt upgrade my ngx, so i follow the instruction in the mega pack 1,and do the upgrade. but the problem still have, wonder if it works in av mode. funny enough, everything works fine when plugged into the tv, so it can use on tv, and i check my system is 500a now. then i check on neogeox web, they said maybe i need a soft re-set, it just leave station and ngx both on for 20 minutes, try 3 times, still not working. now my ngx is always like this somebody can help me, thank y!

Looks like your screen is broken.

Screens can blow, they are mass produced. Just seems strange that output is working. I have replaced my screen in my x already cost me 45 quid.

If the screen breaks/blows on the NGX unit can it still be played via the docking station, or will it also effect the screen output?

I can confirm when the screen is shot, broken, white etc,or removed. The unit still works on TV output in the dock.

Did you use a better quality screen for your neo geo x?

Thanks legacy, that is really useful to know.I took my defunct neo geo apart (finally). There was a small piece of paper that had somehow gotten inside - whether it entered or had peeled off from an internal sticker I do not know. As this was in direct contact with the circuit board/chip set it kept causing the whole NGX to freeze.
I have now removed and the unit is working again, as good as new (I tested it by playing 2 hours continuously with no issues. Good timing as I was going to buy a new NGX from funstock on black friday (it was reduced to GBP100 so a great deal); that's gbp100 remaining firmly in my pocket.
Having been away for so long it really does make me rethink what a fantastic system it is, especially with friends (or family) and two sticks.
Anyway, happy gaming everyone!
