Ok so i just bought a neo geo x. It came with the megapack. I tried updating and failing. Then I tried again and it got to a certain point and started to reboot and is stuck at the neo geo x logo. When I tried booting it up normally, it is stuck at the logo. This OFFICIAL update bricked my neo geo x literally ONE day after i received it in the mail! YES my neo geo x is v370. The only way for it to get out of that state is that if the update is successful.
Please help!

Well if it bricked with official hardware/software and you have only had it for a day then I'd go for an exchange.

That's the one way, and the best way to guarantee you'll get your system updated. Some here have done that very thing. Alternatively, there's another member here called OMGNGX, he seems to know the ins and outs of every version of the system. I imagine when he chimes in, he'll be able to offer you a few different solutions.

If I send it to tommo, will they charge for shipping when I receive it back?

I just discovered something, the update DID finish but for some reason, it didn't install properly. That means the rocket cable is faulty. Could someone out there loan me there mega pack or game pack volume 1-5?

Do you remember what firmware the system was BEFORE you started the update? If your system is a 337 it is 100% recoverable using a PC and micro USB cable. One way to tell if your system is a 337 is to check the unit's outer screws, the 337 NGXs have silver screws, the 370 NGXs have black screws. If your unit is a 370, you would have to hardware mod the unit to add a micro sd card socket in order to fix this yourself (if you actually break off the Samsung NAND chip, the micro SD socket solder points are still present on 370 motherboards)... but if that's the case I say just send it back to Tommo.

Hi to everyone here. Does anybody know how to hardware mod a 3.70 motherboard to add a micro SD socket on it? Where exactly are the solder points on the 3.70 motherboard? I bought a second hand 3.70 unit and it is completely bricked. Doesn't turn on ,doesn't charging, doesn't get recognized by pc while holding the ''start'' button. Doesn't do anything at all. I replaced the battery with a new one fully charged to make sure is not a fault with the mini usb connection but it didn't help either. Any help would be much appreciated.
