I am wondering why nobody has had the idea for a downloadable software driven GUI interface that recognizes the NEO-GEO X SD card via a PC or MAC, it would definitely be do-able, the ability to alter the MEGA PACK at will via deleting your unwanted titles would be brilliant, and also save the hassle of modding an SD Cards pin-outs, which is a fiddly process. If there is a project relating to this I'd be interested in any information or progress.

..or Linux in my case..
But how would that work? I thought the entire problem with NGX SD cards was that they are physically hardwired differently?

It already recognizes the Card in the SD slot, but because of the way it is wired all it does is asks you if you want to format it, the way I see it with clever programming someone could make a GUI based application and driver that would recognize the different wiring and make it readable, you can put pretty much any peripheral in a PC and there will be a software driver for it, so I am thinking why the hell not. I doubt it will ever happen, but it would be cool.

drivers can't account for voltage being on the wrong pin, anything will require the sdcard adapter

drivers can't account for voltage being on the wrong pin, anything will require the sdcard adapter So a separate 3rd party hardware adapter would be needed to sort the voltage? Making it easier to just buy a pre-built rewired mini-SD card.

On another note any new home-brew software or program would be interesting whether it be games or not, has anyone one seen or heard of anyone working on such a project.

To be honest, if I jailbreak mine. I was going to look into porting stuff, it's Linux, would also need an Ingenic cross compiler. It's why I was asking on the JB thread where the actual emulators are post-jailbreak, inside the NGX or on the SD card (via pro card). If they are on the card, I guess I'd start by dropping a different Ingenic binary in and seeing what happens. I'd be interested to see what libraries and binaries are installed in the NGX Linux. If I could get a build environment up and running, I'd try to get an NGPC emulator running first.

NEO TURF MASTERS on that is great, as is NEO POKE KUN, SNK VS CAPCOM, BIO MOTOR UNITRON, pretty much all the games actually, aside from NEO GEO CUP '98 that was Dog Crap, I had one with practically every game even EVOLUTION Eternal Dungeons, but like an idiot I sold it all to fund buying a GAMECUBE as I'd heard all the RESIDENT EVIL's were coming to it, including 2 exclusives, the Re-make of 1 and 4, I don't regret the GAMECUBE purchase but buying back all the games I owned on the NEO' Pocket would cost me over a months wages, probably more.
