I cannot see any screen tearing on handheld and I have looked very hard for it. Handheld is flawless in my opinion.

I've heard good things about the handheld. One thing I do find a bit odd about it are the 4 shoulder buttons. Seems like 2 shoulder buttons would've been good enough.

Yeah kind of agree on the shoulder buttons, particularly when there actually not used for much(pausing, turbo mode???and screen ratio)can think what the 4th one does.i think all of those things could have been done through a menu by pushing start or the menu button myself that would then leave the buttonsfree to be customised for beat em ups combos ect.

Oh yeah, I heard that "turbo mode" was added with the update, right? Do you or anyone around here use it? Sounds quite useless to me.

I've never used it yet,a pointless feature in my eyes.Tommo need to concentrate on improving sound and picture quality rather than silly additions like this.in fact I'd have preferred em to have included hi score saving rather than "turbo mode".

Totally forgot about that turbo mode, have pushed it a few times by mistake and screwed myself LOL. Don't see the point of it either =) .

I would honestly rather have had something like an auto fire option for games that require you to pulverize your 'A' button (Metal Slug, Last Resort, etc etc)

Oh yeah, that would be great for those button-mashing games.

Holy Cow! After hooking my NGX up through a VCR it looks remarkably better. No dullness or heavy red tinting. It looks as good as any composite game system (Saturn or PSX) except for the damn screen tearing. If they fix that I will have no complaints at all. I have owned an MVS for many years and am used to the RGB monitor clarity, wondering if any AES owners with the standard composite out have any comments or comparisons on the video out of their NGX through a VCR composite.

It's a major improvement...no doubt. It still isn't as good as original AES composite out in my opinion but it is so very close.

I'm quite happy with the HDMI output in the v500 update, and I do agree that my one complaint is the screen tearing. Hopefully that'll be the main thing that gets fixed if there ever will be another update.

It's more obvious in games with a lot of screen scrolling such as Metal Slug and Magician Lord.
