Look who's following in the footsteps of the Neo Geo X. hehe. Looks quite interesting. I wonder if there would be a way to expand the game library, or if this will actually be manufactured by Nintendo themselves. It has definitely peaked my interest. What do you guys think? www.nintendo.com/nes-classic

It's a good lineup of games too. I'll definitely be looking into this. Maybe next time they'll make a SNES version. That would be cool.

I am pretty pumped about this since it's made by Nintendo. I think if it does well we will definitely see more which would be awesome.

Yeah, I'm hoping Nintendo will make enough supply for the demand because I think a lot of gamers are going to want it. I know I do. I just worry that people are going to start reselling them for a fortune if there isn't enough supply.

I think it is a cool concept and should be executed well. It is already on my Xmas list!
I am not so sure on the value of a SNES edition as the wii controller is so similar to the original snes controller, it already feels pretty SNES like when playing on the virtual console.
I'd love to see Nintendo produce old sega consoles under license - how about an all in one mega cd/megadrive/32X?

I'm really interested in seeing how this turns out. This is the first time Nintendo has ever made a plug and play system, from what I know. Hopefully it'll turn out well and they'll have more similar stuff soon.

I really hope so as whatever you think of Nintendo, they have a solid reputation as a manufacturer of hardware.
It would be great if this could lead into something meaningful for the retro gaming community.

This should give those ATgames plug and play stuff some serious competition. Maybe it will make them step things up a bit with their Sega stuff. Those things would be quite good if they just fixed the audio issues.

What is it with the genesis audio on the @games emulators? You would have thought that after 5 years of manufacturing they would have been able to rectify/use a decent emulator! Still good fun though.
I play alot of retro games through my VC on Wii - the titles are a little expensive but the quality is IMO fantastic. Even only having access to the PAL titles is not so bad if your tv has zoom functionality.

I don't have a Wii or any Nintendo product at the moment. I had the NES, SNES, and Gameboy when I was younger, but they're all gone now. So this mini NES is something I'm really interested in, especially with me being a "retro gamer". The latest system I have is the original Xbox. I have an Ouya, though I only use that for emulation (mostly MAME) nowadays.

Speaking of plug and play consoles, I heard there's going to be a Generations console from Retro-Bit (makers of Retro Duo and Super Retro Trio) that will include games from Data East, Capcom, and Jaleco. Is this the year of the plug and play? Is there going to be a plug and play war? haha. retro-bit.com/generations.html

I have a Retro Duo and that's pretty solid, so I have some good expectations for this one. It says it'll have 100+ games. Hopefully they'll all be official stuff and none of those extra mini-games/homebrew crap that was on the ATgames consoles/handhelds.

100 games would be awesome if they are essentially MAME arcade games.
I am always somewhat surprised Sega don't do something (maybe with capcom) that would run the CPS1 and 2 and AM2 (up to say virtua fighter 2/daytona era) games.
They could licesne manufacture to a 3rd party. That baby would sell like hot cakes!
