I don't know if you recall, but my battery expanded and died so I had to remove it last year. Well, I ordered a replacement Dingoo battery from DX at the beginning of December. And, I'm still waiting for it to arrive haha. Has anyone else ordered from these guys and experienced a long delivery time? Really keen on getting my X back into working order and don't want to have to shell out for another battery, even though it was inexpensive. Perhaps I'll give them til the weekend and chase them up over it. I'm in the process of setting up my retro consoles with a CRT tv in my man-cave, using a good quality five-way scart switch and I want my NGX to join the party PS, I've been away from here for a while, any news on the NGX front I should be aware of?

Unfortunately, no new news like... at all! But that shipping time just sounds patently hilarious! Can't say I've dealt with them before, so I've got no experience to speak of.

I wish there was a new firmware update that fixes screen tearing. That's the only issue that I have with the NGX. All the other issues (if any) aren't too big a deal to me.

The screen tearing is terrible on 370 and before firmware but on 500a its not that bad at all. Folk on 370 firmware really need to upgrade. Come on guys. Roll with the times.

I have v500. The screen tearing isn't really bad at all. It just bothers me from time to time, especially when playing side-scrolling games like Metal Slug. For fighting games, it's barely noticeable.

PS3 controller batteries work in the Neo Geo x.

Ooh, do they indeed? That's interesting, might be easier to order one of those instead for the sake of about a fiver. Thanks for the heads up. Have you used one yourself Legacy?

I have tested one and it works fine. Battery technology has come a long way over the years.
I understand another user is also using the same batteries and lasts 3-4 hours on gameplay, no probs with charging.
Another bonus we can get access to these batteries.

The screen tearing is definitely one of those things that will only bother you as much as you let it. If you sit there looking for it, then yes, it can be noticed. However in the middle of a game and heat of the moment it is non-existent. 500a was definitely a step in the right direction on the screen tearing front.
And of course, it is non-existent on the handheld device.

Also CPS on jailbreak has no tearing. So its possible a custom update with an upgraded FBA emulator will fix the problems. I am understanding someone is already working on a custom update, could be a while though.
Im just grateful the X did not end on shit 370 and 500 firmware with screen problems and colour issues for UK PAL users. 500a was the way forward.

Neo.emu on the Ouya is really good. The games look nice and sharp, and there's no screen tearing at all. I can even use the NGX stick with it. Somehow I still prefer playing with the NGX though. There's just something different about the NGX. It just feels more like an authentic Neo Geo experience I guess, at least in my opinion.

The only way PMA is to either get a 500a mega pack update card, or using the jailbreak. This uses 500a firmware already. Im think some classic packs had 500a updates.
neogenesis, i know what your saying about the experience on neo x. Like they say you will never enjoy metal slug unless your using the neo arcade stick as these games where built for it.
There is still a lot of love for the Neo X about good times.
