That's interesting. I didn't know Tommo was a bigger company. It's true that NGX products are still being sold at their regular prices on Ebay and Amazon. Hopefully Tommo does continue support for the NGX. It would be nice to see more updates and games for the NGX.

It could be possible that the termination gets reversed and SNK drop every thing and sart a fresh. This would make good history and support carry's on like normal, as i said business is business and anything can happen in the industry.

Interesting reading guys, so how long do you reckon before we have some concrete answers? I love things like this but I'm so impatient.

It might take quite a while. Tommo seems to be keeping quiet about things. From what I know, there hasn't been any official word from them regarding the supposed license termination.

Tommo Responds to the Wrongful Termination Claim by SNK PLAYMORE USA CORP
Worldwide publisher and manufacturer of games and accessories continues to support and distribute NEOGEO X
Los Angeles, Calif. – October 7, 2013 – Tommo, Inc., today responded to the press release that appeared on the SNK PLAYMORE USA Corp website last week. Tommo, Inc. denies that any breach of contract exists in their agreement with SNK PLAYMORE USA Corp and are continuing to support and market the popular NEOGEO X GOLD entertainment system, its accessories, and games. Due to the popularity of the system, Tommo and SNK extended the agreement earlier this year until 2016. Tommo fully expects this agreement to be honored by all parties. To date, Tommo has performed all of its obligations under its license agreement with SNK and is disappointed by SNK's sudden and unjustified termination of the agreement. Tommo has demanded that SNK retract its press release and any attempts to terminate the license agreement.
"Tommo is still taking care of all customer service and product warranties in North America as are our master distribution partners, Success in Asia and Blaze in Europe," said Jonathan Wan, CEO of Tommo, Inc.. "We're continuing to sell NEOGEO X products, including the NEOGEO X GOLD System, Arcade Stick, MEGA PACK Volume 1 and Classics Volumes 1-5. The license agreement which allows Tommo to sell and market these products remains in effect."
Tommo Inc. would like to thank the thousands of NEOGEO X fans who have shown amazing support for NEOGEO X in the last week and want them to know we will continue to support them, their NEOGEO X GOLD systems and products.

Good news, but unless they sort things out with SNKP I don't think we'll see any more games.

That's great news, hopefully SNKP accept the slap on the wrist, realise that they've done wrong and continue supporting the system.makes you wonder if SNKP have seen how well the X was selling and wanted to get a piece of the handheld market themselves.

Well after the panic, i just got a new neo x from amazon.com and the firmware is 370, so i am enjoying metal slug 3 and 5 and art of fighting 2.
I will continue to support official releases of the Neogeo X with hopefully new mega packs released. But for now this is the route for me until things blow over and we get some good news

It's a bit weird when you think about it, but that license termination news probably helped NGX sell more products. Maybe it was a marketing strategy by SNK and Tommo. LoL! I'm just kidding, of course. hehe.

Now the real question is, if they actually succeed in keeping it going right to the end of their contract, which as they said is 2016, how do they plan on keeping the system fresh? To get more Mega Packs and Collection volumes, they have to get more licensing from SNK Playmore, which might not be likely, given the current circumstances! I'd be interested in seeing more come out, of course! If I get a good enough assortment of my favorites to choose from, I might be okay not using a ROM card anymore. Big if, though! I'll support it regardless of how I choose to enjoy it in the end, though. It all looks great on the shelf!
