Hey guys. I'm new to the scene, only had my NGX for like 2 weeks but am really enjoying it so far. I have a few questions though!
I'm currently using fw370 with a pro card. I've seen multiple times that jailbreaking based on 500 or 500a is the way to go for better TV out among other things. The main question I have is do I upgrade firmware to 500 or 500a first, then jailbreak? Or do I just have to jailbreak and worry about getting fw500 if I ever want to roll back?
Thanks in advance! You guys rock and are the main reason I got my NGX in the first place!

Definitely upgrade first to the 500/500a software and then jailbreak. I believe it can cause serious issues otherwise so make sure you do it right.
Whilst I jailbreaked and never looked back there are plenty of forum members who have chosen not to - if you read around the various threads you'll find there legitimate reasons to back their decision so it is worth taking some time to decide if jailbreaking is right for you.

Well, I decided to roll the dice and jailbreak on 370. It went without a hitch, and it seems like I got all the 500 benefits as well for the stock games. I downloaded the example card image from the Facebook page and tested Blazing Star after deleting the ROMs for the other systems (As well as some Neo Geo ROMs to make room on my 4gb micro SD) and it worked great! After that I had to go to work, so when I get back I'll clean some stuff up and inject Unibios.
When I tested Blazing Star it took awhile to load, but other than that I experienced no slowdown

I, personally, came to the same conclusion. That said I am into my 8 bit systems as well as Neo Geo so having access to those hard to come by sega master system games was a big draw for me.
Don't get me wrong, I love those Neo geo games but the other emulators were perhaps a bigger draw for me than other users. Apart from the PS emulator - why on earth did that end up there? Would have much rather have seen a 32X emulator or mega cd - that would have been a nice opportunity to play some difficult to access games.
Hope you enjoy and welcome to the club - both blaszing star and pulstar and awesome! I also really love love resort despite the slow down issues you face the further into the game you get.

Just restart your games and the slow down will be gone.
