Hi everyone
I am a new member to the forum and I have a couple of questions.
1) Has anyone tried the new Jailbreak version with the V500\V500A firmware? does it work? I assume it will Jailbreak with a Magic Modded Adaptor and an official Rocket cable from the megapack?
2) This forum has pointed that I don't need to Jailbreak the NeoGeoX simply put the roms on the Magic modded SD card, is this correct? if so can anyone point me at a link which explains how to build the SD card for a non Jailbroken NeoGeoX please?
3) Has anyone done the GCW Zero firmware update yet? does it work? any good? can I still use the dock etc?
I am only interested in Jailbreaking so I can play all the Neo Geo roms, I have no interest in the other systems. So if there was a chance not to Jailbreak then this would be my chosen route and saving is not a major loss.
Thank you in advance.

1) I'm not sure if my version of the Jailbreak is new, I can't remember the last time I updated it, but I HAVE done it after updating to v500. Yes, it will work with a magic modded adapter and official rocket cable, it's exactly what I used to do so. 2)I don't have one right off, but I'm sure there's a thread here I'm forgetting about, but it's simple. Get the NG rom you want, run it through a converter (Most use convertX or FBAcache)to make a .fba file out of the .zip, make a corresponding PNG for the game, and you're good to go. 3)I have not, so I can't answer that! If you're only interested in playing NG roms, the Jailbreak might not be your route of choice. For a full pros/cons weigh in, see this thread; neogeox.proboards.com/thread/148/jailbreak-compiled-information

Thanks Danther.
For point 2) if I wasn't to Jailbreak do I simply drop the converted roms in a folder called neogeo in the root of the card? and is that it or do I need other files on the card? also should I include the neogeo bios zip in the roms folder?

Yes the V500 model will work with the Jailbreak.

metalslug, here's how to setup a rom card without jailbreak; First, ensure the memory card is labelled "card_game" Simple enough! Then, have all your files stored in a folder labelled the same, like so (Remember when you're looking at these shots, that these are my backup images I just drop onto a memory card when I feel like shuffling games around, hence why these are all in my Documents, not the memory card); Now then, the inside of your folder, you should have your converted FBA format games, and corresponding .png's labelled "game1.fba/game1.png, game2.fba/game2.fba, etc, etc) Like so; Now, the thing that makes it all work. You'll notice there was a notepad openable document labeled "game_card_configure" with the necessary text, also located in the folder with your roms/pngs which thankfully isn't much. Have a look; Ensure you did not save it as a .txt file. when creating it, use save as, then use your dropdown to make it 'all files' and not .txt files. This will allow you to make it whatever format you wish. Save the file as "game_card_configure.conf" and it will register as a .conf file that you can open with notepad. It should look like this when you're done;
