The thumbstick is starting to worry me, it doesn't click at all now when pushed up and sometimes doesn't register in games. Not sure what to do.

How old is the handheld, thats not good at all. You must have given it some stick, because those micro switches should last for donkeys years.

I've not had it a month yet! Firing upwards in Metal Slug is very difficult now.

You need to send it back and get a replacement.

I love my NGX...I just got it yesterday along with the Mega Pack! I was kinda "nervous" from all the negative things people have said about it....but in all honesty, I have ZERO problems.......it did look like shite on 370 firmware, i'll admit that...but on the 500a...it really looks AWESOME.....I'm not one that needs the games to be "perfect"...and i don't notice input lag when hooking it up via HDMI and using the arcade stick.......i played a few of the fast paced games and it seemed to be very responsive.......It was well worth the money...

370 firmware does suck. You notice the tearing and fuzziness like hell on tv output. The 500a upgrade was well worth it and would have resulted in better reviews.

Mine arrived yesterday and I had a lot of fun playing Cyber-Lip and Magician Lord last night I bought it as a bundle with Megapack 1 and I also bought a second arcade stick to go with it. It arrived with firmware 500a already installed and I have to say I don't really notice any graphic/sound/input lag problems with it - but bear in mind I don't have or have ever played on a home AES system so I don't have a point of reference for comparison. Playing the handheld seemed to be OK but I don't really do handheld gaming, I've played on many units from many different companies over the years and I always just feel that the experience is cramped. My NGX is hooked up to my TV through HDMI with sound being extracted and outputted through my stereo amp and floor-standing speakers and it was just a blast to play. The only Neo Geo games I've played up until now was Metal Slug which I bought through the Wii Virtual Console store, but it's something I always wanted when I was a kid - so I'm very happy to finally have a version of it, especially with the arcade sticks which are just fantastic and make it so much easier to play games than gamepads.

one of my favorite things about the NGX is the ability to not only play games hooked up to the TV....but to be able to SAVE those games and continue them on the go on the same system!

I read about how to do that today but I don't think I will bother with that feature much. When it comes to retro games (most of which you can finish in an hour or two if you get good enough) I'm more interested in the process of playing them over and over to get better and better at them. The holy grail of which is getting so good you can finish them using the lives/continues you start with or those you can find in the game.

Playing it on my stock AES. So far, my best Magician Lord 1 credit run is the end of Stage 5 before I get overtaken.

Regarding the save feature, I LOVE using it for games for the very first time I'm playing them, so I can see them through to the end, while learning. Once I've capped em though, I stop saving and use only the limited credits. Can't clear it? Too bad, get better. That kind of challenge is what keeps me coming back for more! Though some games, it remains completely essential, such as playing a full pennant of Baseball Stars, or Art of Fighting 2 period. I can get to Mr. Karate in the first AoF on 1 credit, and I've gotten to Wyler once on a single credit for AoF3. Can't do that reliably, though. Sinclair beats me down HARD sometimes. I can more than beat both of them within my 4 credit limit, though.

I am waiting on my ProCard 2 and once I get it, my goal is to beat EVERY Neo-Geo game I play...even the games I don't care for like Baseball Stars and Neo Turf Masters (I am not a sports guy).....once I beat them, regardless of number of credits I use, i'll try to play them again to see how far I can get on just a FEW continues...then try again and see how far I can get with just a few lives....thats the awesome thing about these retro games, you're not putting 40+ hours to beat them like you do modern games.....you can beat them in one sitting if you are good at them and to me, that makes the replay value even HIGHER....rather than having to play thru ALOT of hours just to beat a game once....
